My newest landscapes are inspired by the arched window shape of these handmade frames i discovered on Etsy. It is difficult to resist a cute little frame. I felt myself drawn to creating worlds within the contracted space of the little arched portal. If you could shrink and walk through you would arrive in an imaginary landscape. This shape also reminds me of magical forest doorways I would find exploring the woods behind our house growing up. Stepping through, you can pretend everything is different, manifesting a dreamy new place to visit.
The deep wood frame is varnished with a walnut stain and I’ve mounted the artwork away from the acrylic. Each one is light and ready to hang on the wall or send to a friend for a special keepsake. These are available in 3 sizes: 3x5, 4x6, and 5x7 inches.
