Elissa Nesheim is a watercolor artist working from her home studio in Minneapolis, MN. Growing up in South Dakota on the edge of the Black Hills cemented her connection to the land around her and beyond. Traveling by car and viewing the changing environments of South Dakota and Minnesota while visiting family, influenced her vision of bringing what is far away and feels untouchable closer and attainable. After college at Black Hills State University in Spearfish, SD she moved west to the land of Silicon Valley. Moving to California from SD and later CA to Minnesota, her view from the passenger window embedded memories of dreamlike, layered landscapes that meld together to form her current work.
Artist Statement:
My landscapes are a confluence of my own memories of place, intuition and dreams that coalesce in a painted creation that connects people to nature and each other through art, the natural world and our own individual way of seeing.
